Introducing the Rush-Gilbert Spay & Neuter Clinic at Heartland
We are excited to announce the opening of the Rush-Gilbert Spay and Neuter Clinic at Heartland Animal Shelter! This brand new, fully equipped clinic was made possible by the kind and generous endowment of Sharon and Jerry Rush. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Since the clinic’s opening in April of 2008, over 1,000 spay/neuter surgeries have been performed. Heartland would like to thank Dr. Kristine Preiser and Dr. Herbert Preiser for their endless volunteer hours performing the much needed surgeries. Heartland would also like to thank dedicated volunteers Michelle Yaryan and Cathy Vaughn for their hard work setting up the new clinic as well as their ongoing leadership and coordination efforts scheduling surgeries as well as volunteers to work at the clinic.
We would also like to extend tremendous gratitude to Lowes of Northbrook, Bobby Richards, Store Manager, and Larry Stotts, RTM. The professional atmosphere of the clinic was enriched by a significant donation of premium metal vented shelving from Lowes. As a non-profit, we could not have dreamed of having the quantity or quality of shelving that Lowes so graciously donated for the clinic. Larry Stotts was also very instrumental in the installation of the donated shelving.
The Rush-Gilbert Spray & Neuter Clinic is directly aligned with the shelter's mission to help control pet overpopulation. We truly appreciate the Rush family's donation that made this opportunity possible for the animals at Heartland Animal Shelter!
